2017 4th Annual Lee-Jackson Tribute

The Lt. F.C. Frazier Camp 668, Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Laura Wesson Chapter 5, Order of Confederate Rose of High Point are proud to present our 4th Annual Lee-Jackson Tribute with a Special Tribute to General Robert E. Lee. All are invited to join us on this evening dedicated to an American Hero on Monday, February 13th, 2017 at 6:30 pm for a presentation by our guest speaker Mr. Billy Yeargin, Jr. M.L.S. entitled “Robert E. Lee – The Autumn of His Life”. This presentation of history will be on a less known period from the life of General Lee with a focus on his post-war life including his efforts to bring peace between the North and the South, his contributions toward building a good educational system in the South and his attitude toward those of the North who fought against his Army during the War Between The States.

Mr. Billy Yeargin, Jr., M.L.S., Lecturer on American tobacco culture, Professor for Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Duke University. Since 1995, Yeargin has taught Southern Culture at Duke University and US History, Humanities and Philosophy, Southern Culture and Public Speaking at various community colleges in North Carolina. He serves as a Lecturer with the Road Scholar Program of the North Carolina Humanities Council with his programs “American Tobacco Culture”, “Robert E. Lee – The Autumn of His Life” and “Heroes of a Divided Culture”.

Join us for our 4th Annual Lee-Jackson Celebration with the evening dedicated to General Robert E. Lee. This project is made possible by a grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council, a statewide nonprofit and affiliate of the National Endowment of the Humanities.

The Chef of Above & Beyond Catering has planned “Italian Night” especially for us with Ranch and Herb Salad, Parmesan Encrusted Chicken, Santa Fe Pasta, Lasagna, Grilled Vegetables, Breadsticks with Butter, Assorted Cheesecakes and your choice of Coffee, Tea or Water.

Plan to join us for supper as we call it in the South by sending a check addressed to Frazier Camp 668 for $16.00 per person and mail to the Ronald Lee Perdue, PO Box 5641, High Point, NC 27262 to give the Chef the courtesy of knowing how many to plan for the evening.

Preregistration until January 31st 2017 by mail. If you miss this date and plan to pay at the door please RSVP at ronaldleeperdue@gmail.com or 336 880 8243 by February 9th 2017 for Above & Beyond Catering to know how many tables and chairs needed for setup for the evening.
